02day 2Sultans and the Ottoman legacy
Breakfast. Visit Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. A walk across Sultanahmet Square. Tour of Topkapı Palace, the former seat of the Ottoman sultans. Continue to the Grand Bazaar, the historic centre of trade and traditional crafts. Free time for shopping and exploring the bazaar. Overnight in Istanbul.
03day 3Sufi tradition and the Bosphorus
Breakfast. Visit the Süleymaniye Mosque and discover Ottoman architecture. A walk through the historic quarters and a visit to the Spice Bazaar, known for its spices, teas and traditional products. An introduction to the Sufi tradition, with the chance to attend a whirling dervish ceremony, depending on available dates. A panoramic boat ride on the Bosphorus, with views of palaces, historic villas and the shores that connect Europe and Asia. Overnight in Istanbul.
04day 4Istanbul – Cappadocia
Breakfast and transfer to the airport. Flight to Cappadocia. Transfer to the hotel and check-in. An introduction to the region and its unique rock formations. A gentle walk through a nearby village or valley, depending on the hotel's location. Overnight in Cappadocia.
05day 5Fairy chimneys and underground cities
Breakfast. Visit the Göreme Open-Air Museum, famous for its cave churches and historic frescoes. Tour of Cappadocia's characteristic valleys and panoramic viewpoints. Visit one of the famous underground cities, such as Derinkuyu or Kaymaklı. Learn about the history of the underground settlements and how their inhabitants lived. Return to the hotel. Overnight in Cappadocia.
06day 6Cappadocia from the air and Anatolian tradition
Optional early-morning hot-air balloon flight, weather permitting. Breakfast. Visit a traditional pottery workshop and learn about local crafts. Free time to explore the villages, shop for handicrafts or relax. Dinner with traditional Anatolian cuisine and an optional cultural programme with local music. Overnight in Cappadocia.
07day 7Cappadocia – return
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport and flight to Istanbul, connecting with the international flight to Sarajevo. Return home and end of the trip.
