OMAN – The Magic of the Arabian Peninsula

Upon arrival at Muscat International Airport, you will be welcomed by our friendly and efficient driver from the AFAQ Travel & Tourism team, who will assist you and transfer you in a comfortable vehicle to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel in Muscat.

Departure: 08:30 from the hotel.
Your guide will take you on a tour including: Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muttrah Corniche, and the famous Muttrah Souq — perfect for purchasing frankincense and traditional daggers (khanjar). Continue to the Bait Al Zubair Museum showcasing Omani culture. Visit Al Alam Palace (official residence of Sultan Qaboos bin Said) and view the Portuguese forts of Mirani and Jalali. Return through the old town. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.

Departure: 09:00.
Drive south through the Quriyat region with scenic mountain views. Short stop at Bimmah Sinkhole. Continue to Wadi Shab: boat ride to the trailhead, hiking through the canyon to the “Keyhole” passage — swimming in crystal-clear water and visiting the waterfall cave. Lunch at a local restaurant. Continue to the traditional city of Sur for accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay in Sur.

After breakfast, 4×4 ride through the mountains. Visit Wadi Bani Khalid — turquoise waters and palm oasis. Lunch, then drive to Wahiba Sands desert. Accommodation at Al Salam Desert Camp — a luxury Bedouin camp with air-conditioned rooms. Enjoy dune bashing and sunset. Dinner, evening program, and overnight stay in the camp.

Early breakfast and departure to Nizwa — the cultural heart of Oman. Visits include: the old village of Ibra and Al Mudayrib (traditional towers), Birkat Al Mauz (walk through the palm plantations), and Nizwa Fort with its impressive circular tower and colorful souq. Dinner and overnight stay at Intercity Nizwa Hotel.

Breakfast and check-out. Visit the picturesque village of Misfat Al Abriyeen (terraces and palm plantations) and the old village of Al Hamra (clay houses up to 400 years old). After lunch, drive to Jebel Shams (3,009 m) — view the “Grand Canyon of Oman.” Return to Muscat and check into the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Departure from Marina Bandar Rowdha (safety briefing). At 12:00, boat trip for dolphin watching (possible species: spinner, common, and bottlenose dolphins). Anchor at Bandar Khairan Island — snorkeling equipment, mats, and picnic lunch included. Free time for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking. Return to the marina at 16:00, transfer with luggage, and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
