Day 1
Arrival in Seville (Andalusia)

Arrival in Seville, Spain. Transfer to hotel, introductory city walk, and welcome session focusing on the Islamic heritage of Andalusia. Overnight in Seville.

Day 2
Seville City Tour – Islamic Legacy

Guided tour of Seville’s historical sites, including the Giralda Tower (former minaret), Alcázar of Seville (Moorish palace), and the Cathedral of Seville. Discussion: The Islamic Roots of Andalusia and the Era of Al-Andalus. Leisure time in the afternoon. Overnight in Seville.

Day 3
Córdoba – The Heart of Al-Andalus

Full-day excursion to Córdoba. Visit the Great Mosque of Córdoba (Mezquita), Jewish Quarter, and the Roman Bridge. Educational session on Muslim-Christian coexistence and the fall of Al-Andalus. Return to Seville for overnight.

Day 4
Granada – The Alhambra and Islamic Splendor

Day 5
Granada – Free Morning and Flight to Zagreb

Free morning for personal exploration or optional visit to Granada’s Islamic schools or local souk. Afternoon transfer to the airport for flight to Zagreb, Croatia. Arrival in Zagreb, orientation walk, and overnight stay.

Day 6
Zagreb City Tour – Gateway to the Balkans

Morning guided tour of Zagreb’s Upper and Lower Towns, including the Cathedral of Zagreb, Ban Jelačić Square, and the historical markets. Afternoon educational talk: Historical Connections Between the Balkans and Iberian Peninsula: Trade, Empires, and Culture. Overnight in Zagreb.

Day 7
Flight to Sarajevo – Exploring Ottoman Heritage

Morning flight to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Guided city tour visiting Gazi Husrev-bey’s Mosque, Baščaršija Square, Sarajevo City Hall, and the Latin Bridge. Educational focus on the Ottoman legacy and the unique Islamic identity in the Balkans. Overnight in Sarajevo.

Day 8
Lukomir Village – Preserving Traditional Muslim Highland Culture

Full-day excursion to Lukomir, Bosnia’s highest village, offering insight into preserved Muslim mountain traditions, medieval tombstones (stećci), and highland cuisine. Return to Sarajevo for overnight.

Day 9
Srebrenica Memorial Visit – Lessons from History

Full-day educational visit to the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial and Cemetery. Guided tour of the memorial center and museum, with survivor testimonies and a session on the importance of remembrance, tolerance, and peacebuilding. Return to Sarajevo for overnight.

Day 10
Mostar, Blagaj, and Počitelj – Heritage and Reconstruction

Day trip to Mostar to explore the UNESCO-listed Old Bridge, Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque, and Old Town. Continue to Blagaj Dervish Monastery by the Buna River and the Ottoman town of Počitelj. Discuss the post-war reconstruction and the role of Islam in cultural preservation. Return to Sarajevo for overnight.

Departure

Group debrief and feedback session, transfer.
