Day 1 Arrival in Sarajevo
Upon arrival at Sarajevo International Airport, guests will receive a brief introduction to the city. Afterward, they will be transferred to their hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is free for rest and relaxation. Overnight stay in Sarajevo.
Day 2 Sarajevo Old Town, Trebević Mountain, Tunnel of Hope
Begin the day with a guided tour of Sarajevo’s Old Town, visiting key historical landmarks such as the Gazi Husrev-bey Mosque, a prominent Islamic structure in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the Kursumlija Madrasah, Hanikah (Derwish Tekke), and the Emperor’s Mosque. Explore the vibrant Bascarsija Square, the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, the Bosniak Institute, Ghazi Husrev-bey Library, and the historic Taslihan. Afterward, head to Trebević Mountain, a peaceful sanctuary and popular recreational area, known for its lush landscapes. Enjoy an exhilarating ride on the alpine coaster at Sunnyland and take in breathtaking views from the cable car. Visit the Tunnel of Hope, a vital passageway used during the Siege of Sarajevo in the 1990s for transporting supplies and refugees. Overnight stay in Sarajevo.
Day 3 Herzegovina Excursion – Konjic, Jablanica, and Mostar
Experience the stunning natural beauty of Herzegovina on a day tour. Stop in Konjic to admire the picturesque town and Ottoman-era six-arched stone bridge. Continue to Mostar, home to the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge), a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Turkish House, one of the best-preserved examples of Ottoman residential architecture in the region, and Karadjoz Bey Mosque, an exemplary 16th-century Ottoman mosque. Return to Sarajevo for the evening. Overnight stay in Sarajevo.
Day 4 Tour of Jajce – Castles, Waterfalls, and Pliva Lake
Jajce is renowned for its exceptional beauty, being the only city in the world where a waterfall is located in the very heart of the city. The Pliva Waterfall, one of the twelve most beautiful waterfalls globally, dates back approximately 50,000 years. Just five kilometers from the city center, nestled between the Great and Small Pliva Lakes, lie the historic Pliva watermills, known locally as “mlincići.” These oak-crafted mills, believed to date back to the Middle Ages, were once used to grind grain but now stand as a popular tourist attraction. In 2009, the watermills were designated a National Monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Overnight stay in Bihac.
Day 5 Tour of Strbački Buk Waterfalls and Japodian Islands
Embark on a visit to the stunning National Park Una, located near the Croatian border, where the Una River cascades dramatically in a series of falls, known as Strbački Buk. The falls are composed of three travertine sections, with the largest drop reaching 18 meters. Surrounding the falls, you’ll find well-maintained viewing platforms, providing an excellent opportunity to relax and take in the breathtaking natural beauty. Continue to the picturesque Japodski Otoci (Japod’s Islands), where visitors can explore one of the region’s oldest civilizations and enjoy the serenity of the islands. Overnight stay in Bihac.
Day 6 Tour of Bosanska Krupa and Ostrožac Castle
On this day, explore Bosanska Krupa, a charming town located along both banks of the Una River in Northwestern Bosnia. The town is dominated by the remnants of a medieval fortress, built in the 13th century on a hill overlooking the river. Today, only fragments of the fortress walls and two towers remain. Later, visit Ostrožac Castle, which has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. In 1967, the castle was reopened to the public and later became a renowned sculptor’s colony, attracting artists from across the globe. Overnight stay in Bihac.
Day 7 Tour of Semešnica, Travnik, and Sarajevo
On your return to Sarajevo, visit the tranquil village of Semešnica, a peaceful oasis for nature lovers and water enthusiasts, renowned for its stunning waterfalls. Continue to Travnik, once the capital of the Ottoman Empire in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Explore its rich Ottoman heritage, including the famous Blue Water Spring, the historic Travnik Castle, and the Medresah (Ottoman school), which offer insight into the region’s cultural and architectural legacy. Return to Sarajevo for the evening.
Day 8 Departure from Sarajevo
Enjoy a final breakfast at the hotel before transfer to Sarajevo International Airport for your departure.
